Many of the previous trainees who attended our healthcare training currently work in various reputable healthcare institutions while some have qualified as registered nurses after undertaking their nursing degree course in the university.
1. Principles of Moving and Handling: One day intensive course designed to enable carers/support workers/nursing assistants and nurses to develop safer manual handling techniques in the workplace.
2. Food Hygiene: This course will enlighten you about importance of Food Hygiene, the obligation of providing safe food for service users and the legal requirements associated with food hygiene.
3. Health and Safety: The course would remind you about your statutory obligation of ensuring a safe working place and your employers obligations of ensuring the health, safety and welfare of employees.
4. Infection control: Students will be taught about the importance of infection control, different types of infections, hospital acquired infection with particular emphasis on MRSA and universal infection control precaution etc.
5. Basic First Aid: A comprehensive introduction to first aid; this training covers the practical skills that are required by the first aider in the workplace. The course will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.
6. Medication training: This course provides the essential knowledge that is required for staff to safely monitor and assist with administering medicines to the service users in their care.
7. Fire Safety: Participants would be brought up to date about fire safety procedure and the legal requirements of fire safety.
8. Equal opportunities: Participants will be reminded about equal opportunities policy, how to deal with discrimination etc.
9. Dementia training: You will be taught about what dementia is and how to support individuals with dementia etc
10. Introduction to Mental Health: The course will take you through the basic training that will assist you in looking after people with mental health problems, how to deal with violence and aggression etc.
11. Epilepsy training: You will be introduced to various types of epilepsy and how to support individuals living with epilepsy etc.
12. Stroke training: Participants will be taught about the causes of stroke and how to look after service users with stroke.
13. Abuse/POVA training: Participants would be introduced to different types of abuse, the way to handle abuse and consequences of abusing service users. You would also be introduced to the protection of vulnerable adult
